SimBloSys rent a considerable server package to host clients websites, and their own online services. When we "do" a website for you, we will also host it for you, and manage this hosting, a lot cheaper than you are likely to find on any other commercial hosting service.

Website hosting

When you work out your website with us, we will also consider your hosting requirements. We strive to keep our hosting costs as low as possible, by making sure your service is throttled exactly to your needs (with a little wiggle room!) and not a gaping huge professional server unnessesarily capable of dealing with hundreds of times your traffic. Hosting has two factors to consider disk quota and bandwidth.

Disk quota is easy to work out, this is the size of your website. For the majority of cases this is fairly fixed, and so can be adjusted perfectly to cater for your site. If you website can recieve content (such as photos or comments) then it is a lot more difficult to judge, as the size will slowly increase. These things can all be worked out though, and we will monitor your site and inform you if anything needs to be brought to your attention. Our most basic quota size is 50Mb and believe it or not, this will really accomodate most websites (even though other hosting services will convince you their 2000Mb servers are absolutely cruital to you).

Bandwidth is all about how popular your website is. If one visitor comes to a 50Mb site, and basically visits all the pages/facets of the site, then for that month the bandwidth will be 50Mb. You can do the maths between site size and average number of page views per visitor to work out how many people your bandwidth can manage a month. We will examine and advise as best we can to make sure your bandwidth requirements are as accurate as possible, as bandwidth is the most expensive aspect of web servers.

Hosting Options

This is often the best way to start off, because as soon as you find you need more, you can upgrade! If you start off too high, you'll be paying for quota never used! Don't go crazy on the example maths above, because it is unlikely a basic site will completely fill the 50Mb, and even more unlikely every visitor will download every element of a website. This package can probably cater for most site sizes, and visitor levels of around 900 a month.

If you look at the description above, you will see this hosting option triples everything (except the cost!!) which really gives you an excellent hosting package. I know it will still seem unbelievable, but 150Mb is plenty of space to host a website, and with the increased bandwidth, you can now probably manage into the thousands of visitors a month.

Now we're talking about websites! This kind of hosting package is now into the realms of commercially available hosting options, but without the cost. With half a gigabyte (500Mb) of storage, and 5Gb of bandwidth, you have the scope to allow users to input their own content to the site, through photo uploads, forums, comments and guestbooks. With 5Gb of bandwidth, unless you are using the site to host an online radio station(!) you should find that even hundreds of users should not be able to run your site into the ground in a month..
