Photographers Websites
One area that SimBloSys has really excelled in recently is building portfolio websites for photographers. Event photography is becoming an increasingly competitive field, be it for weddings, parties, festivals or gigs, the digital photography revelation is turning everyone into an experienced amateur photographer.
The best way to make yourself stand out as a modern photographer is to be able to provide a sound, organised portfolio of your work to potential clients. It can be very expensive to have hard copy prints of your work available to send to every potential customer though, and thats where the Internet steps in. A smart online portfolio full of example work and contact information could well mean customers choose you as their photographer without any additional expense or effort by yourself.
Case Study: John Ashby
John Ashby is a music photographer from the West Midlands. He's been working in this capacity for over 6 years, and has over 15,000 photographs hosted and organised on Flickr™. This was all very well, but if he wanted to pitch himself to an artist or magazine, it wasn't much use directing them to a collection of fifteen thousand photos. John wanted a basic website to be the launching point for his affiliations. This is exactly what we provided him with.
The most important thing this site provided to John is an impressive portfolio of his best photos, seperated into relevant catagories. Added to this the functionality of the diary and a couple of pages about, and how to contact John, and he has himself a very useful and effective website.
All of the photographic content of the site came from John's work, but the layout and graphic design was completed by SimBloSys, returning to John on a number of occasions for feedback. The site is done in a modern, dark, "blood red and black" style, in keeping with the style of punk/metal music photography John performs.
John Ashby Photography is currently unavailable online, at the photographers request. You can see screenshots of this work throughout our site though, including directly above.
